10th Anniversary Season of SCSCS Racing to Premier on MAVTV Starting in September

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (August 14, 2017) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series (SCSCS) and Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions are ready to once again bring the roar of 3,300 lb. 600hp stock cars to MAVTV, a television network owned and operated by Lucas Oil Products with its roots deep in the automotive world.  After enthusiastic reception from 2016 season broadcasts that were showcased throughout the past year in front of a national audience, new half hour long shows highlighting each of the races from 2017 will begin on Thursday, September 7.

"The series looks forward to being back with the MAVTV family for a second straight year as part of our 10th Anniversary season,” said Joe Schmaling, SCSCS Director of Competition.  “Fans and TV viewers witnessed a great 2016 from beginning to end that has resulted in a positive impact which has helped us grow the series with new teams and expansion into additional geographies for 2017 and beyond."

Crabtree and Ebeling Grab Clean and Green Lonesome Pine Twin 50s

Coeburn, Virginia (August 6, 2017) – A total of only one yellow flag slowed the field across 100 laps of Super Cup Stock Car Series racing, but the 18 drivers on hand put on some fast and exciting competition for fans at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night.

Brad Teague, a local crowd favorite and former track champion at the Southwest Virginia facility, and current points leader Jim Crabtree Jr. started from the front row for the first Extreme Awards & Personalization / Patrick Miller Photography Twin 50 presented by United Tire after a six car redraw.  Crabtree, fast qualifier in his only Lonesome Pine SCSCS start back in 2008, broke out into the early lead from the outside line in his No. 63 Jim's Automotive / Judy's Apartments Chevrolet.

Pair of Races in Southwest Virginia Could Prove Pivotal toward 10th Anniversary SCSCS Championship

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (August 1, 2017) – Super Cup Stock Car Series drivers and teams have been hard at work gearing up for a pair of opportunities offered this upcoming Saturday.  The 10th Anniversary season continues its summertime pace as Lonesome Pine Raceway hosts the Extreme Awards & Personalization / Patrick Miller Photography Twin 50s presented by United Tire.

Last year’s race at the Coeburn, Virginia 3/8-mile oval presented some thrilling battles all the way to the checkered flag.  The first-time winner in his initial SCSCS start, Ben Ebeling, still vividly remembers how meaningful the special night that ranks up there as a career highlight was.

Kingsport & SCSCS Agree to Cancel Friday Night Heat 50; Lonesome Pine Twin 50s Still on for Saturday

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (July 29, 2017) – Staff at Kingsport Speedway and officials with the Super Cup Stock Car Series have made the difficult decision to cancel this coming Friday night’s 50-lap race at the 3/8-mile “Concrete Jungle”.

The SCSCS would like to thank Kingsport Speedway Promoter Karen Tunnell and staff for doing all they could to make festivities, originally rescheduled from June, a consideration.  The race was contingent on the completion of events as part of the Tennessee track’s weekly schedule.  Unfortunately, further rain outs have continuously been incurred in recent weeks.

SCSCS to Play Some Music City Tunes during Autumn Special Event at Highland Rim

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (July 25, 2017) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series has agreed to an opportunity for fans and drivers alike to see ‘Racin’ The Way It Used To Be” in a new region this fall.  Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbrier, Tennessee will host a non-points special event at their 1/4-mile built in the early 1960s on Saturday, October 14.

Located less than a half hour outside of Nashville, the weekend will give traveling teams and their families a chance to visit the Music City.  On race day, there will be additional perks for racers including guitars being awarded as the trophies for the feature winner and hard charger in this 75-lap showdown.

“I think this could be a win-win for everyone,” Highland Rim Speedway promoter Jerry Criswell enthusiastically said.  “Plus being only 20 minutes from Nashville would make it easy to make a mini-vacation out of it for the drivers, crews and fans.”

Kingsport Friday Night Heat Rescheduled; Divisional Championship Realignment Announced

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (July 16, 2017) – Remnants from Tropical Storm Cindy won out back in June, but the Super Cup Stock Car Series drivers and teams will get a second chance to race at Kingsport Speedway for the first time.  The eastern Tennessee 3/8-mile facility will host the rescheduled Friday Night Heat presented by United Tire on August 4th.

Affectionately known as the “Concrete Jungle”, the Friday evening’s festivities will consist of one 50-lap feature before competitors cross the state border to Southwest Virginia for the regularly scheduled Extreme Awards & Personalization / Patrick Miller Photography Twin 50s presented by United Tire at Lonesome Pine Raceway the next day.

Brent Nelson Rebounds for July Jennerstown SCSCS Sweep

Jennerstown, Pennsylvania (July 9, 2017) – Brent Nelson entered the 2017 Super Cup Stock Car Series season poised to improve one more position from his 2016 runner-up championship effort.  Unfortunately, that quest derailed right off the bat at Midvale Speedway due to a mechanical failure early in the first Twin 50 at the Ohio track.

The Petersburg, West Virginia driver would not let the dismal results get his team down as they rallied back to claim the pole award and both victories in Saturday’s American Racer “Night at the Races” presented by United Tire at Jennerstown Speedway Complex in Pennsylvania.

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania (July 5, 2017) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series competitors are ready to shake off the recent wet weather and kick-start a summer filled with high speeds at the popular Jennerstown Speedway Complex nestled in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania.

A majority of the thousands of fans that flock to the facility will be pulling for their fellow heroes from the home state during American Racer “Night at the Races” presented by United Tire.  Walnutport’s Kevin Kromer paid a visit to the speedway during their season opening weekend back in May to update the crowd on recent progress with his health and describe the excitement that will be witnessed this coming Saturday.
